Upcoming Performances

SUNDAY 10th NOVEMBER : 7.00PM

“Brahms: Ein Deutsches Requiem – A German Requiem”

In a performance conducted by Gavin Carr, Bournemouth Symphony Chorus and Magna Sinfonia join forces to perform Brahms’ largest choral work, the powerful Ein Deutsches Requiem – A German Requiem. Premièred in 1867 in Vienna, Brahms wrote he would have gladly called the work A Human Requiem and his intention was to write a Requiem to comfort the living rather than the traditional mass for the dead. After revisions, the final version performed in Leipzig in 1869 was met with critical acclaim and recognised as a work of exceptional vision, confirming Brahms’ status as an outstanding international composer.

SUNDAY 23rd NOVEMBER : 7.30PM

The New London Chamber Choir has been invited to Folkestone New Music by John Woolrich to perform a carol concert on Saturday November 23rd. The repertoire will include works by Jonathan Harvey, Tansy Davies, John Woolrich, Peter Maxwell Davies, Dominic Muldowney, Nicholas Maw, Harrison Birtwistle and Mark-Anthony Turnage.
